Shiseido has started to conduct trials on a new plant cultivation test facility, which the beauty company established in December 2012 at its Kakegawa factory. The plants will be grown efficiently as raw materials for active ingredients, for use in Shiseido’s products.

This will allow Shiseido to market its products as ones that contain ingredients that are traceable to their source. The earliest we’ll see these ingredients being used in products is 2014.
